Subject: Constituent Email regarding Digital Economy Bill

Dear Mr Brazier,
I am writing to you regarding the current attempts to railroad the Digital Economy Bill through parliament in the dying days of Brown’s reign.
As a constituent, I am concerned by the abuse of parliamentary process by attempts to pass this bill through “wash-up” when the Lords have already clearly shown that it is flawed.
As the owner of a computer support company I am worried of the knock-on effects that could be caused to my customers if the powers given in this bill are put into (mis-)use.
As wistful journalist (or IT columnist for the Whitstable, Canterbury, Herne Bay and Faversham Times) I am disgusted by the loopholes that the clauses regarding “orphaned works” rip open.
I ask you to take the same stance as your “neighbour” Roger Gale, quoting an email from him to Jeremy Hunt and David Cameron:
May I hope, therefore, that the Opposition will resist this potential abuse and, if necessary, not only vote against the bill but indicate that it will be repealed, re-written and re-enacted properly by an incoming Conservative government if railroaded through in the dying days of this administration?
